Why I Became a Counselor

I didn't just stumble into this work — I was drawn to it by a deep, persistent belief that people deserve more than just coping. They deserve to actually heal. That belief is what drives me every single day.

After years working in behavioral health and human services across the San Luis Valley, I've had the privilege of sitting with people in some of their most vulnerable moments. What I've seen, time and time again, is that when someone feels genuinely heard and supported — without judgment, without pressure — incredible things become possible. That's what I show up to do.

I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate (LPCC) based in Alamosa, Colorado, working under clinical supervision as I complete my licensure. I specialize in trauma, anxiety, and relationship challenges — and I'm certified in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), a powerful, evidence-based approach that I use regularly because I've seen it create real, lasting change.

"I became a therapist because I genuinely love people — and I believe everyone deserves a safe, judgment-free space to work through life's hardest moments. That's not just my profession. It's my calling."

My Approach

No two clients are the same — which means my approach is never one-size-fits-all. I draw from a range of evidence-based methods and blend them based on what fits you best: what feels right, what you're ready for, and what will actually move the needle in your life.

Some sessions will feel like deep emotional processing. Others will be practical, skills-focused, and forward-looking. What stays constant in every session is my commitment to meeting you exactly where you are — with warmth, genuine curiosity, and real investment in your growth.

I also believe that healing doesn't have to take forever. That's one of the reasons I'm so passionate about ART — because people deserve relief sooner, not later.

Let's Connect

What I Believe About Healing

These are the convictions that guide every session, every conversation, and every decision I make as your therapist.

You Are the Expert on Yourself

I bring tools, insights, and years of training — but you bring the most important thing: knowledge of your own life. My role is to walk alongside you, not to tell you who to be or what to feel.

Safety Before Everything

Real healing only happens when you feel safe. I work hard every session to create an environment where you can show up exactly as you are — messy, uncertain, and all — without fear of judgment.

Healing Is Possible for Everyone

I deeply believe in the human capacity for resilience and growth. No matter what you've been through or how long you've been struggling, your story isn't over — and better chapters are genuinely possible.

Therapy Should Actually Work

I'm invested in real results, not just years of talking in circles. That's why I choose approaches — like ART — that are designed to create meaningful, measurable, lasting change.

Therapeutic Approaches I Use

I'm trained in a wide range of evidence-based approaches and thoughtfully tailor my methods to what will be most effective for you — not just what's most familiar.

Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)

Rapid, lasting relief from trauma and emotional pain using guided eye movements and imagery. Often works in 1–5 sessions.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Identifying and gently shifting the thought patterns that keep us stuck in anxiety, depression, or unhelpful cycles.

Trauma-Informed Care

Every part of my practice is shaped by a deep understanding of how trauma affects the mind, body, relationships, and sense of self.

Mindfulness-Based Approaches

Building present-moment awareness and grounding skills that reduce anxiety and improve how we regulate difficult emotions.

Somatic Techniques

Recognizing how the body holds stress and trauma — and working gently to release it from the nervous system.

Solution-Focused Therapy

A strengths-based approach that helps you identify what's already working and build intentionally toward the future you want.

Ready to Begin?

The first step is often the hardest — but it's also the most important one. I'd love to connect and hear about what you're going through.
